Winter Country Club Wedding//Kalamazoo, Michigan
I had the absolute pleasure and adventure of following James and Lizzi from Washington D.C. for their cherry blossom engagement session in April, to their winter wonderland Kalamazoo Country Club wedding in Kalamazoo, Michigan a couple of weeks before Christmas later that year. They were some of the most fun people to not only photograph, but also hang out with. If I had to choose one couple to have car trouble with, I’d pick Lizzi and James every time (see more about that little story here).
The day started as it usually does, with everyone hanging out getting ready.
Then it was time to head to the church for the ceremony. The ceremony was at Stetson Chapel in Kalamazoo, Michigan. For any photographers reading, have you ever seen more beautiful light?!
Just practicing their moves for later moments before walking down the aisle.
They did it! Time to party. Well…almost time.
We headed back outside to get some sunset shots. The sunsets in Kalamazoo in December just do not disappoint.
I swear when I say…no filter. We were hoping for snow, but we settled for an electric winter sunset.
Ok, now it’s time to party.
Lizzi’s dad came up to me and said he had a special picture he wanted to take with the whole family. There was just one other little thing, he wanted to surprise Lizzi with a fake squirrel jumping out of the enormous Christmas tree (any Christmas Vacation fans?), to which I said…of course. I’ve had stranger requests.
Turns out, Lizzi was quite fond of her new furry friend.
The night ended with everyone, and I mean everyone, out on the dance floor. You know what we always say in the wedding biz, “The more people on the dance floor, the better the marriage will be.” Or…something like that. I’ll leave you on this note with James and Lizzi at their absolute best. A couple that limbos together, stays together forever. A big, big congratulations to these two.
